Legal
Terms of sale
The agreement between you and us when you order something. Written to be readable — nothing here takes away rights the law gives you.
1. Who you are buying from
uglydog is a trading name of Scott John Mathews, a sole trader based at 31 Holcroft Drive, Wigan, WN2 5YP, United Kingdom. You can reach us at scott@uglydog.online. We are not registered for VAT, so the price you see is the total price — no VAT is added at checkout and none is included in the figure.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply when you buy a made-to-order piece from our shop. Custom work quoted through the project form is agreed separately in the quote itself; where a quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
3. How an order is made
Adding something to your cart is not an order. When you pay, you are making an offer to buy. Our acceptance — and the moment a contract exists — is the confirmation email we send you. If we cannot make what you ordered, or we have priced something wrongly and the mistake would have been obvious, we may decline the order and refund you in full.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include delivery anywhere in the UK. Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We only charge the price shown on the product page at the time you ordered.
5. Making your piece
Everything is printed and finished by hand once you order — we hold no stock. Typical lead times are shown on each product page and are honest estimates, not guarantees. If something is going to take materially longer, we will tell you and you can wait or cancel for a full refund.
These are made objects, not injection-moulded products. Layer lines, tiny variations in finish and slight colour differences between batches are normal characteristics of 3D printing rather than faults. Photographs show a real example of the piece; yours will be made to the same design but will not be pixel-identical.
6. Changing your mind, returns and faults
You normally have 14 days to change your mind, and faulty or not-as-described items are always put right. The detail is on our returns and cancellations page.
7. Delivery and risk
Delivery and collection are covered on our delivery page. Goods become your responsibility once they are delivered to you or collected. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.
8. Designs by other people
Some pieces are printed from designs published by other makers under open licences. Where that is the case, the product page names the designer, links to the original, and states the licence it is sold under. You are buying a physical object we made; you are not buying the design files or any right to reproduce the design yourself.
9. Using this website
The text, photographs and layout of this site belong to us or our licensors. You are welcome to browse, link to us and share pages. Please do not copy the site's content for your own commercial use, try to break or overload it, or use it in a way that breaks the law.
10. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses — these are goods supplied for private use. We never limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
11. If something goes wrong
Email scott@uglydog.online and we will try to put it right. If we cannot agree, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your own courts.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.
