ModelWorks · 3D scanning

Turn the part you have into the part you need.

Bring us a broken part, an awkward shape or an object worth keeping. We capture it, make the important details usable, and can take it through to a finished replacement.

Start with the object — no drawings needed Useful files for repair, making or archiving Make or hand over the agreed result

What you get

A useful result, not just a scan file.

Scanning gives us the shape. We turn that scan into something you can use for repair, printing, product work, display or future ordering.

What you get

A useful digital copy of the object you need to keep, change or remake

We agree the useful result before work starts, so the quote is built around what you need.

Capture the real object

A practical starting point for awkward shapes.

Scanning is useful when the original object carries details that photos and hand measurements would miss: curves, worn surfaces, organic forms and awkward fits.

For display pieces and props, the scan may be close to the finished piece. For working parts, it becomes the reference for a cleaner model.

Make it usable

We turn the capture into a file you can use.

A raw scan can be detailed but difficult to edit. We tidy up the shape around the edges, holes, sizes and fittings that matter.

The result can then be adjusted, printed, repaired or quoted again without starting from scratch.

From object to outcome

Capture it, shape it, then make or hand it over.

Step

Capture the real part

We capture the object carefully, then shape the result around what you need it to do.

Step

Rebuild what matters

For working parts, we rebuild the surfaces, holes and fittings that have to line up, so the final file is ready to make.

Step

Make or hand over

We can make and finish the replacement in-house, or supply the agreed files for your own archive or supplier.

Who we help

Where 3D scanning fits

Scanning is the way to go when the object itself is the best thing to work from. We can turn it into a file, a replacement or a finished piece.

Who it's for

Repair, restoration & maintenance

  • Capture worn or discontinued parts before they fail completely
  • Create a digital reference for replacement covers, clips, handles and brackets
  • Recreate a part from the only one you have left, when there is no drawing or spare
Who it's for

Makers, product teams & small businesses

  • Digitise handmade prototypes so they can be refined or repeated
  • Archive physical samples before changing suppliers or production routes
  • Create scan references for packaging, display stands and small hardware ideas
Who it's for

Props, display & education

  • Capture sculptural, organic or hard-to-measure objects for replicas and props
  • Create teaching models or display references from real objects
  • Prepare files you can resize, adapt or take through to 3D printing
